On June 14-15, the "16th Straits Forum-2024 Cross-Straits Seminar on the Development and Cooperation of Traditional Chinese Medicine" was held in Xiamen, which was co-sponsored by
the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SATCM) and Xiamen Municipal People's Government. Yu Yanhong, member of the party group of the National Health Commission,
secretary of the party group and director of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SACM), and Wang Jinfu, vice governor of the Fujian Provincial People's Government,
attended and delivered speeches. Huang Luqi, deputy director of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, member of the party group and academician of the Chinese
Academy of Engineering, delivered a keynote report.
Yu Yanhong said that at present, Chinese medicine is in a great opportunity of timing, location and people, and cross-strait cooperation in Chinese medicine is getting closer and more
fruitful. The high-quality development of Chinese medicine business and industry also brings new opportunities for the development of Chinese medicine in Taiwan. She emphasized that
Chinese medicine colleagues on both sides of the Taiwan Strait should firmly shoulder the mission and responsibility, give full play to the unique advantages of Chinese medicine, deepen
industrial cooperation and exchange, and deeply explore the cultural essence, so as to make concerted efforts for the high-quality development of the traditional Chinese medicine
industry and the enhancement of health and well-being of compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, as well as to contribute to the realization of the great rejuvenation of the
Chinese nation and the construction of modern Chinese civilization.
The symposium covers a number of thematic forums and Chinese medicine characteristics of appropriate technology demonstration experience, Chinese medicine cultural exchanges and
visits and other related activities. More than 500 experts, scholars and entrepreneurs from both sides of the Taiwan Strait conducted exchanges and discussions centering on "Promoting
Integrated Development and Creating Long-lasting Well-being".
